This time last year things was completely different for Smack and company. Battlerap's most visible league was operating in traditional fashion , watching a expanding audience grow impatient. 
Witnessing top tiers perform with little to no effort can generate the type of direction that will only benefit the fans IMO.
(and thats exactly what happened)
Ever since NOME 3 the URL been in revamp mode. 
SM3 ushered in the "Bars over names" theme. Which was great till a NAME shut down the event.
NOME IV is the 1st mega event of 2014 and the new age of URL.
The card looks great and with the added grudge concept as the background. 
(It truly was a night of main events)
Then the f'-ing ending happened..........

As in life there are GOOD times
There are BAD times
With time and the URL on a collision course things was bound to get UGLY...............


THE GOOD

-SHOUT OUTS
-Smack White, Beasly, Norbes and everybody @ the U.R.L for pulling off a GOOD but incomplete event.
-Every battlerapper on the card and in the building.
-JadaKiss for being the unofficial host
-DJ Kid Capri,RG3,Ceasar and Dutches of Black INK fame, Joe Budden, Graph, D Chambers, 40z Jess, Drect and all the other guest I'm missing
-The 5 boroughs of New York City
-Every poster on OTBVA and all the other Battlerap related forums.

-GOOD ATMOSPHERE
Never been to Irving plaza but the atmosphere was def good. 
Smokers galore as soon as u stepped on the main floor.

-TOP TIER MIXTAPE
It's hard to tell if it will be successful but I salute Kid Capri for his efforts.

-SETTLING OLD SCORES
Battlerap fans love tying up loose ends. 
This event does that and ends grudges which been longstanding for years. 
Rex vs Cortez was a good battle and the history 
(mainly the personals used by Cortez was def a eye opener)

-READING IS FUNDALMENTAL
ESP for JJDD who proved to be 2 much for the returning Reed Dollarz

-HUSTLING WITH TOMBRAIDER
The encounter between Gattas and Ms.Hustle went right after Big T and Bmagic. It eclipsed that battle right away and put both T and Magic to shame. 
Gattas looked beautiful as Lara croft and it was great to see her come full circle with her debut on the URL. 
Hustle looked sexy af and them thighs>>>
Battle was a exciting back an fourth affair and 1 of the best of the entire night.

-SERVING VERBAL GOODZ
Verb got alot of crowd love and support
( yes he was in NYC vs Goodz) that was for the fucking people who give verb a pass for crying. No need for excuses here tho, Verb got love immediately by doing what he does best (rapping)
Goodz was entertaining all 3 rounds. 
The culture will really love this footage once it drops.

-D.N.A PUTTING THE YAK ON ICE!
Norbes thought DNA would lose
Smack thought DNA would lose.
Shit most of the Battlerap world was right with them.

THE BAD

-SETTLING ANCIENT SCORES
The Verb coming to NY to challenge everyone happened years ago. 
The Rex and Tez friction also has a pretty extensive history. 
S the 1st match between Clips and Roc seem like a lifetime ago.
Props to the URL but most of the new fans coming in don't know much bout the grudges to begin with

-3PM START TIME?

New age my ass , the event was typical in fashion.
Started late and the end resulted in something UGLY

-RANDOM FAGS
Numerous times during the event , there were loud heckling. 
Nothing like the nonstop booing of past events. 
S was still BAD tho

-BIG LAW T SHIRT
Big T shirt looked like he had a Pokemon ball @ the top of a pyramid.
Meanwhile Ty Law had on a shirt that resembled a LSD hallucination.

THE RODNEY DANGERFEILD VS BARNEY SYDROME
No matter how consistent Cortez is , he just can't seem to get respect 
(ala Rodney dangefeild)
No matter how consistent Rex is , his flow is just not as intimidating as he would like 
(They both have a lot in common) 

-THEY DID CORTEZ DIRTY
(Speaking of Cortez it was not even Rex who did him dirty)
U just have 2 feel BAD for Tez , this battle was like his last stand IMO. 
With time constraints coming down heavy
Smack cut Tez off @ the end OF ALL HIS ROUNDS.

-REENTRY FAILURE
A lot was riding on Reed's return IMO. 
Reed not only put his name on the line , he also put his past accomplishments and everything that went with it. His return battle was supposed to revitalize a Philly region that been on the decline since the days of Philly Swain (Sadly things didn't go Reed's way)


THE UGLY

-FORFEITING MAGIC
Magic choked in the 2nd and started pacing back and forth.
(He got it back but stumbled again)
This time giving up completely on his 2nd round.

-SMACK VS TREX

-THESE ILL COMPLAINTS
As soon as WIll was done with his 1st , he walked straight up to smack and reminded him bout DNA time lmao

-THE NEVER ENDING FEUD WITH TIME
It's pretty clear @ this point that the URL should never throw events exceeding 5 battles. The evening proceedings never run on time and the fans were in for a UGLY surprise due to the URL management style SMH.

-8:28 PM
The exact time the lights was turned on and it was announced that the NYPD shut the event down. This ment a lot things to me , all UGLY for the most part.
-New age URL with the same fucking problems from the past
-No Clips vs Tay Roc , which is UGLY considering it was the main event and the premise behind the grudge concept.
-Tyler the creator was performing @ 11:30
(never heard his music b4 , won't ever now )
-Yet another URL incomplete event that was good enough to the point , where u felt u got ur money worth despite the UGLY bullshit.
Which occurred exactly @ 8:28pm....................
