R.B.E started the year off strong with the "New Years Order" event and now seems like a viable alternative to the giant in New York city (the U.R.L)
R.B.E isn't like the amateurish leagues that sprung up nationwide @ the start of 2013 (R.B.E attracts pretty decent names to its platform)
Mostly all the events under the R.B.E banner has been held in Club Drom.
For those of u who don't know, Club Drom (2 me) was sorta like the last stronghold of GT/east.
Last time I been to this venue, Posien pen was hosting the Ice vs Swave card. Which featured a line up of Dirtbag Dan, PH, Dirt, Jack Shit, a unknown 40 bars, QB, Real Deal and Money bags.
The "Lift his Soul" card features a lot of good talent IMO.
Bigg K vs Big Kannon in particular is more appealing to me , then say the main event. The Main event is going be a little more interesting due to incident that happened @ B.O.L.A 5.
The event was accompanied by a few hit or miss trailers that depending on who u asked , was either corny or downright terrible. People shouldn't knock A.R.P for attempting to bring something different to the table.
Even if he has his nose up the entire time.......
So I was off to the alphabet city solo
With a dub of sour and a piece of paper I waited to the last min to print out SMH
This is what i saw...............
-Whatever time a Battlerap event is listed to start (add a extra 2 hours to it) There u will have a realistic idea of what time things begin.
-Turnout was somewhere between 40-60 people.
Turn out was def small for that particular venue.
-B4 and right after a few battles, there was a prediction and recap segment. Which included well known bloggers Jay blac, Angry fan and Rain from a battle talk radio show.
-There were sound issues throughout the night but they were minor in nature.
-Most of the battles on the card was 3 rounders.
The only 1 rounder was a battle that wasn't advertise on the card.
SHOUT OUTS
-ARP and the entire R.B.E staff for pulling off a good event.
-Every battlerapper on the card.
-All the guest who showed up
Jay Blac, Angry Fan, The people @ battle talk radio, Mz.Gracie, 15 mins of fame, E&J, All the folks @ Hip hop is real and @ 100 barz Magazine, Poison Pen and Sarah Kana
-Special shouts out 2 Nettie from Rap Grid.com
(Keep doing ur thing ma)
[THE BATTLES]
-SAMMIE WILD 100s vs 4KUS
1st battle of the night was a spirted encounter between Sammie 100s vs 4kus. Sammie outshines 4kus in a few major area throughout this battle.
Sammie with a prop of Popeyes chicken sorta hurt his 2nd round.
4kus meanwhile donated his 2nd round to fantasies of fucking Mz.Gracie lol. Sammie returns in the 3rd with a ILL breakdown of the card.
4kus is up with jokes and aggression.
Decent battle but it was clear Sammie took the W.
-OOOPS vs MR.MILLZ
Ooops starts off with real strong in the 1st but he ends his round really flat. Mr.Millz steps up and builds a strong 1st around Ooops being a cancer survivor. Ooops returns fire with a emotional round reguarding his health in the 2nd.
Millz chokes in the 2nd but has a great round otherwise.
Ooops brings up Norbes in the 3rd and how he looks down on R.B.E.
Ooops chokes twice during this round but it was minor
Millz 3rd only grew stronger as it ended, Millz also throwing shots @ DNA & Clips.
-HAZEY vs SHOWOFF
Ala Cortez, Showoff snatches the coin from the air and begins to rap.
He's real consistent and clean during his round.
Hazey is next and immediately digs in2 Showoff on everything from his singing to name flips. Probably the best Hazey anybody has even seen cause he took the 1st by force.
Showoffs steps it up tremendously during the 2nd, while Hazey does the opposite (Battle is pretty much tied up going in2 the 3rd)
Showoff has an amazing 3rd round, while after a few bars Hazey gives up and stopped rapping.
(JIMZ from the Trap House is allowed Mic time @ this point.
He disses QP for the no show @ the trap house event and pretty much calls out Shotgun Suge)
-CASH CAPONE VS DRE DENNIS
This was the battle that was a 1 rounder.
Cash is up 1st and wasn't half bad despite a slip up
Dre is next and although his round was good , he ends it flat similar to Ooops in his 1st.
-JAI SMOOTH VS MS.MIAMI
Def the bodybag of the night
Props to Jai but Miami has a phenominal performance last night.
Jai had a giant choke in the 2nd that lasted mins.
Miami was pretty flawless throughout the battle.
Jai again choked and gave up in the 3rd.
-JC VS SYAH BOY
(1st off Special shouts to both who took this battle on a week prep)
JC is up 1st and immediately crafts a strong aggressive round.
B4 Syah 1st starts his watches breaks due to his movements
Bigg K , me and about 4 other people in the front began to laugh.
Syah 1st is good but he had to work to bring the crowd back after the watch lol
The battle gets better in the 2nd from both.
The 3rd between JC and Syah is 1 of the best of whole night.
Both dudes seem hungry and Syah actually kept up with JC.
-A.R.P SPEAKS
A.R.P grabs the mic to speak on a few things (mainly respect)
1-The U.R.L blocked the J.C vs Boom from happening.
A.R.P feels this was a bad look cause he didn't block Verb vs Goodz from happening(although both offered to do on it R.B.E 1st)
2-He informs the crowd of the inevitable , the main event won't be happening. He goes on to say its the fans and bloggers fault for focusing on the negative lol
I know I was f-ing scratching my listening to him.
-SHOTGUN SUGE VS ROSENBURG RAWW
This was a Real gutter battle with history just the way I like it.
Suge was in his bully mode , no pocket checks just nonstop bars.
It was good 2 see the old Suge back tbh.
Raww held his own despite the crowd sleeping heavy on him.
He wasn't saying 2 much tho.
Suge has a great 3rd , while Raww had a scheme involving 2 dudes on stage with Ski mask.
[MAIN EVENT]
-BIGG K VS BIG KANNON
1st off nobody got 3-0ed here
Battle is def up for debate depending on preference.
Kannon is 1st and has a good 1st.
Bigg K totally obliterated Kannon with his fan friendly non stop punches.
(The crowd ate it all up)
Kannon responds with more fire power in the 2nd , while Bigg K cut his 2nd really short.
Battle is tied going in2 the 3rd IMO
Kannon starts to address the nigga inside Bigg K , while K 3rd was mostly fat jokes.
This battle was the main reason I brought my ticket and it was satisfying
(Good showing from both)
Event wasn't half bad IMO.
I've been to far worst events and for 53 bucks , I felt like I had a good time despite the cancelled (real)main event
I hear people say Hoffa no showed the event.
He didn't and actually showed @ the end to address a few things.
By then tho I was already making my way to BK
To begin my Saturday night...........
